Laurent lives in Tanashi-house, Nishitokyo-shi.
He gave our interview!
How does he think of share life? and Borderless-tokyo?

About yourself

- Please introduce yourself!

I'm french (that's why my english is so bad), 24 years old. 1m75 tall and slim 69kg...
I live in the south west of France, near Toulouse. I will soon be an engineer and design new machines or car.
I like very much sports (Rugby, soccer...) and listening music (Ben Harper, and punk-rock music).
I've spent 10 months in Japan and I've loved it.

- What type of guy (girl) do you like?

All type of girls!!!

- What's your dream(goal) in future?

I want to be Sony's Chief Executive!!!

- What are you doing your best for right now?

I'm doing my best to know what I want for my future and it's an hard work!

- What is your best memory in your life so far?

My best memories are all the time I have spent with my girlfriend and all my stay in Japan.
The thing I have the most enjoyed until now was watching the sunrise at the top of Mount Fuji!

- If we all die in 1 month, what do you want to do?

I want to die as soon as possible in order not to start to like something I will lose soon.

- If you got 3 million dollar lottery, what do you want to do?

Get a big car, Porsche;
take a 3 months vaccation in the most beautiful island of the world and then continue my life as it was before I win the money and just enjoy.

About house share

- What is good point of your room? also not good point?
- Do you think how long you can stay there?

I don't have anything to say about, it's great place.
I have just few remarks. The closet is very big but it will be great to have more shelfs inside and something to hang clothes.
Then, when it is raining, there is strong noise from the closet (I don't know what it is).
I could have stayed further years in that place.

- What is good point of the house? also not good point?

Good point: Great common space. Quiet location. I like it very much so it's hard to say. Internet availble in the room. Good painting on the walls.

Not good point: It is very cold in winter! There is no heating (it's hard when I want to take a shower).
Maybe it's because in France we all have heating in all room of the house even in Bathroom. Another problem is that the doors are too small.

- What are you careful of share life?

I think the most important thing is to communicate and exchange point of view with people.
I know it was difficult for me because I can't speak Japanese but I've really enjoyed stay in Tanashi house,
all residents are very nice (maybe it's because most of them are girls!!)

- What kind of person will be good for share life? What's kind of people not good for share life?

Good: It's hard to say. Maybe people who like share things with other and who don't care to much about themself.

Not Good: People who have a bad skill in Japanese ;-) like me. Seriously,
I think people who don't want to communicate with other might not be in that kind of place! Selfish people as well.

- Why did you make up your mind to start share life with people?

I have heard in France that sharehouses are the greatest place to meet great persons and dicover other people life.
I have also watch a very good French movie ("L'auberge espagnole", japanese title is "Spanish appartement", sorry I don't know how to write it in Katakana).
I like try new experience so I decided to join share house.

- Who is one of best friend of you in borderless-tokyo? How great is he (she)?

I don't know if I have great friend in borderless Tokyo but I like my 4 sharemates.

Ai-chan: because she is always happy and behave like a little girl sometimes. She is very nice. We've spent great time together.
She works too much and until very very late somteimes!!!

Maiko: She is a very great person. It was hard to start to talk with her but now I really enjoy talking with her. She is very funny and good artist!

Ji-Sun: I don't see her too much because she is very busy. I have spent a good day with her when we went to Design Festa.
She is the first Korean people I have met and she make me want to know much about her country. She is also a great and nice person.

Yuji: He works a lot and I don't see him often but everytime I could see him I've really enjoyed. He is so nice and funny guy! Always talking and very alive!!!

About party

- Are you satisfied with any party in borderless-tokyo? If you are, what was big fun for you?

Unfortunately I didn't went to any party of Borderless Tokyo. I only went to the Bicycle race at the end of august.

- Do you have any good idea of party?

Maybe a party where everyone could talk about his own country (or town) and explain what they like about that place.
Cook something special from there.

A friend of mine gave me the internet website address.

- Please tell us any good point of borderless-tokyo!

Owners and manager are very great and nice people. I think it is a great company but I don't know what to tell more.

- Any message for people living in Borderless-tokyo and people who will stay some other day!

Just Enjoy share life and make everything which is possible to know well your sharemates!! Communication is the key point!
